Not looking very metal today, all things considered. I wore this outfit on a warmish saturday afternoon to go and see the Trons with CDH. For those of you who don’t know, the Trons are a completely self-playing robot band made from random household junk. Their influences include the Clean, the Velvet Underground and ringer washing machines. They’re touring all round the world, so definitely go and see them if you have the chance.

Anyway, we went to watch them play at the Te Tuhi Arts Centre in Pakuranga this weekend, and we had so much fun! All the robots had such cute personalities, (I love Samp the drummer and Fifi the keyboardist, who’s working on a solo project!) and the artist let us take pictures and videos while they played, and walk around and look really close (my favourite kind of looking :))

Afterwards we went down to do some supermarket shopping. The pak-n-save at Sylvia Park stocks an unusual array of English sweets, which drive my wonderful husband absolutly insane with lust. He turns into a tazmanian devil as soon as he hits that aisle. We stocked up on Fry’s bars and Club bars and chocolate fingers. Mmmmmm.

I love my pirate belt buckle. Thanks dad!

    I’m wearing:

    • faded long shorts from Glassons (I brought these about five years ago and still love them)
    • White Country Road ruffly shirt brought for me by my mother-in-law.
    • Nude vesty-thing with front zip, from Glassons (another buy from years ago, back when I was a size 8!
    • Skull wristband from a friend
    • Skully belt (Christmas present from Dad)
    • Skull socks from Camden markets in London
    • Pewter cross necklace

I call this look ‘casual pirate.’ I am happy wuved and full of chocolate and about to head out to a party. Life is good.

    Super Snuggles and Shoggoth Kisses

One Response and Counting...

This might be the most random spot to type this out, considering it’s one of your oldest blogs EVER.

But I actually dig the fashion aspects of your website, being a guy and all. Not only does this support your creed of covering as much about metal as you should, I’m trying to get ideas on my own fashion sense. All I have are a bunch of (mostly) black metal shirts and blue jeans, plus an Opeth sweater, plus Opeth and Katatonia pendants for accessorization. Even this entry is helping me come up with a look for myself.
