I am thoroughly exhausted, having just arrived home from a rather annoying hour-long delay at the train station. Delays are part of life if you take public transport, which is cool – I get that. But when you’re offered no information whatsoever and the instructions passed onto you involve something you physically can’t do (check the front of every incoming train in case it happens to be yours) or actually downright dangerous (people were leaning out to look at the trains coming in), then I get annoyed.
But enough about that, lets have some linkage!
We’re getting more Wacken lineup announcements now … Morbid Angel, Motorhead, Primal Fear, Cradle of Filth (wasn’t impressed last time I saw these guys, but we’ll see if they can change my mind), Sodom, Rhapsody of Fire, Tokyo Blade, Warrant, Visions of Atlantis … It’s shaping up to be quite a lineup. But not as good a lineup as 70,000 Tons of Metal, which my friend Jonowar is going on, because he’s rich, and I hate him (I don’t really).
Revolver Magazine’s pics for the Top 20 albums of the year … yeah …. wow. That’s all I’ve got. Some of these were OK, some were downright terrible … It seems like they’ve picked the “most popular albums for 2010″ to me. But that’s just what I think. What about you?
X-treme X-ray: Revealing the Beauty of Everyday Objects, by, of course, WebUrbanist (I know I link here every week, but that’s because they have something awesome every week.
Pretty cross-stitch skulls. Actually, if you like cross-stitch, the whole Mr X Stitch blog is pretty awesome. I do cross-stitch sometimes, but mine are mostly Siamese cats and Egyptian motifs. I’m halfway through my first sampler made from my own design. It says “What Would Varg Do?” and has lots of cute yellow ducks on it. I’m thinking of doing a bigger one with a cherry picture of a church in the middle.
Hipster Hitler – a webcomic. The name says it all. I’m not certain it’s all that funny, but there you go.
Bamboozle Festival – weirdest lineup ever. Co-headliners: Lil Wayne and Motley Crue. Madness.
More top ten lists – from Reign in Blonde, Elise’s Best of 2010, Angela’s best of 2010 and Julia’s best of 2010 (I think her choices are bloody good). No Clean Singing’s guest contributor Andy Synn’s picks for the best metal albums of 2010. And, of course, you can see mine here.
The Man-Eating Tree – my new favorite band.
If you’re somewhat artistically inclined, you could design Darkthrone album covers. Somehow, I’m not sure my corpsepaint kitties would be quite what they are after.
The Assasination of Yogi-Bear by the coward Boo-Boo. Yeah, I giggled.
That’s all I’ve got time for. But, you’re going to want to come back tomorrow to catch a glimpse of our EPIC Christmas Metal creation.
