• Metal Mixtape: Rest in Peace, Peter Steele

    April 24th, 2010 | Metal Mixtape

I’m dedicating this week’s Metal Mixtape to our fallen brother, Peter Steele. As you can guess, there’s a few Type O Negative songs here (OK, a LOT) but I’ve added a few other songs, to mix things up a little. Enjoy!

    Type O Negative – Black No. 1

A song about black hair dye. Watch Pete swing that upright bass!

    Rasputina – Dig Ophelia

Your “non-metal” entry for this week. I only just discovered these ladies this week. I love how dischordant and haunting their strings sound.

    Genitorturers – Take It

From their new album Blackheart Revolution which I will totally buy. Totally channelling Rob Zombie. Love it.

Oooh, and here’s the finale from last weekend’s Auckland show, featuring the beautiful Hannah and her fire fans.

Type O Negative – Pete Steele on the Jerry Springer show

This episode is called “Sexy Groupie Girls Tell All”. Is it just me, or does Jerry look … frightened?

Cripple Mr. Onion – Six Days of Silence

My favorite NZ Metal band – please don’t judge them by the less-than-steller quality of this video – it was made years ago on a tiny budget.

Type O Negative – Christian Woman

From Bloody Kisses, “Christian Woman” is a Type O Negative classic.

    Type O Negative – My Girlfriend’s Girlfriend

From my favorite Type O Negative album, October Rust, a beautiful song about having two girls :)

    Genitorturers – Lecher Bitch

Written by the Genitorturers for the Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines game.

What are your favorite Peter Steele songs?
    Steff
