I haven’t given much commentary this week, as you can find it all on thursday’s post “How I Got Into Metal“, but here are, in rough chronological order, some of the songs that have had the most profound effect on my life.

Alanis Morisette – You Oughta Know

Metallica – Enter Sandman

Metallica – Creeping Death

To this day, Creeping Death remains my favorite Metallica song. I cannot tell you how incredible it was when they played it live and I was right there yelling “Die Die Die” with tens of thousands of other people. Incredible.

Manowar – Warriors of the World

this still makes me cry. (I am such a wuss)

My first clue that men from Scandinavia are gorgeous.
