Full Metal up the irons to Wacken Open Air for being the most amazing week. Currywurst, clinking glasses to a cry of “Proust!” Being in my first ever “Folk Pit” during Korplikaani – extreme metal folk dancing, watching a group of determined Germans dump a ton of garbage on the campsite of two TV presenters they had deemed “false Metal”. Brutal Legend – the game. Vikingsblut – mead and sherry from the viking ship. Being poor, and happy. Having three different drunk germans attempt to kidnap me. Metalheads playing croquet. My husband’s new kilt (he’s so hot) and Amon Amarth’s viking ship stage show. Brutal-tastic.
