Give a Goat This Christmas

Tr00 Metal Life

Instead of a Linking Horn today, I want to point you in the direction of E Bleak, fellow metal maiden and doom fan extraordinaire, who is organizing a very metal micro-fundraiser to give a goat this Christmas.

See, I'm not so sure she's going to give that goat away ...

Oxfam America has a fantastic program called Oxfam Unwrapped, which gives needy communities the chance to ask for what they need the most, and then awesome folks like you and I can give them a hand to get them. And this year, lots of people need goats. Why? Goats give milk, AND meat, AND they poo everywhere which is good of the soil, and they are so metal they can survive anywhere.

E’s trying to raise enough money – $50 – to give one goat. It’s not gonna save the world, but it is a totally metal thing to do for a community out there lacking in a much-needed goat. I’ve given a few bucks, and, if you’re keen, you could pop over the Positively Bleak and do the same.

Horns up \m/

^ So with you, more goats = better, but I don’t get so many hits and I figured I’d start out by shooting low. ;) I’m plugging this as hard as I can, but pass it along!

RUGS is also awesome, as is the Hunger Site’s Gifts that Give More if you’re in the mood to donate more.

I love the “Really Useful Gift Shop” (RUGS) which has an entire catalogue, and an entire charity-giving price range, from stationary for school to building a school for a whole village.

I plan to donate to that as well. I really hope she raises enough to donate more than one goat. I think if this could get linked to in ever metal blog she’d stand a good chance.
