GIVEAWAY: WIN a $50 voucher with Gallery Serpentine

Kvlt Fashion, Plunder

steffmetal gallery serpentine corset

Deadline extended: You’ve got until the 31st May to enter!

Down in the antipodes, we alternative folk don’t have the fashion selection available to you Northern Hemisphere lasses. We learn quickly we need to get savvy with online shopping if we want to have a wardrobe that doesn’t just consist of high street cast-offs. So when a clothing label down here produces something really unique and wonderful, I know I am super keen to support them.

Gallery Serpentine are probably the oldest, most well-known and well-respected alternative design label from our corner of the globe. For nearly 20 years designer Stephanie Serpentine has been creating superbly high-quality corsets and Victorian gowns for her Sydney boutique and accompanying website. The range now includes amazing gothic, steampunk and lolita styles. I have adored Gallery Serpentine for years, and own several pieces, including this stunning longline corset in a beautiful sage green.

I’m wearing: Gallery Serpentine corset | Skingraft green army skirt | socks from The Apocalypse | black cross necklace from flea market.

This cares is AMAZING. It is insanely comfortable – the most comfortable of all the corsets I own, despite being the tightest in terms of tightlacing. It’s also extremely high quality; all steel boning and high-quality eyelets and lacing. Individual panels down the front of the corset have been stitched with black lace, and there’s lace around the top and detachable straps … basically, it’s a masterpiece of the corsetier’s art.

Here’s my corset being worn by my friend Amy in a steampunk wedding photo shoot. (Talk to Amy at Northwic if you’re interested in the dress or bustle.

Firstly, thanks for leading me to the Gallery Serpentine site. Love it! My fav? Morticia’s Umbrella, closely followed by the Demonic Deviant Sneaker Boots and the Shutter Lens goggles…but it took some time to decide with so many wonderful choices!

I ADORE all the bridal ensembles, but realistically I would probably buy one of the Bandolier Baby corsets – they would look amazing on stage or in photoshoots for our band <3

My Sewing skills are lacking
And my wallet’s really slacking
My steampunk clothes are few
But that could change all thanks to you

This top i think is really neat
It would really beat the summer heat
Oh No! my size is out of stock!
I’ll have to get over that big shock!

Accessories are also nice
And at such a reasonable price
A harness could look good on me
It could be my new fav accessory?

The Choice is really up to you
Your choices are way more than just a few
But something new would be so nice
I hope my poem will suffice

This is really stirring! Sorry, I tend to have a very muddled way of speech but there’s no harm in entering! I think the Clockwork Butterfly Blouse is, in all honesty, reminiscent of a dream and a half. Beautiful beyond belief, pieces like these make me really excited! Wouldn’t it be grand to sit amongst friends, sipping tea from antiquated china with the grace of a ghostly doll? To run through the bush up a river and climb trees, step over rocky waterfalls, and admire views with the magick of a woodland witch or fae? To wander through graveyards with ghoulish grace? I feel like this is indeed so versatile to emit all these vibes and images. I know this is something I’d never wish to take off. I’d but love to own a piece such as this someday, however everything in the store is to die for.

I may be a guy but I would rock the hell out of the Gothic Victorian Military Jacket with my female steampunk character Victoria Victor! alongside some steampunked marching boots and a corseted waist so small it would make Victoria Beckham want to go on a diet! hehehehehehe!

the moto vest. Not only because it’s just shy of $50, but because it’s freaking awesome! Metal men get all the gorgeous but not this time. Also, it’s a bit Halford-sequel and who doesn’t love that style.
