Linking Horn: Back to the Linkage

Linking Horn, Tr00 Metal Life

Yes, yes, I know I’ve been a little less prolific than usual – trying to concentrate on that whole “quality over quantity” thing. Also, I’m trying to finish the draft of my new novel by the end of the year. And I’m getting ready to launch a new website in December. Yes, a new website. I’m a crazy person.

Our favorite over-the-top metallers Manowar are re-recording their debut album Battle Hymms with all their current bombastic glory. I welcome this news, because if I could think of oe album deserving of a more modern re-recording, it would be this one. Atrocious production spoil what should be a wicked album, in my opinion, but not for much longer! To re-record the narrations performed by Orsen Wells, they’ve hired Christopher Lee. Joey DeMaio says it’s going to sound like somebody put gasoline on your balls and lit it – here’s hoping that’s a good thing. Where does he come up with this stuff?

From the Middle Finger Project, Education and Wage Slavery – hand in hand. An interesting post, because, well, she’s right in the people forget education is a business. I do fundamentally believe that education is wonderful, amazing, and can give a voice to those who might otherwise not have a voice. Education is not evil, but some of the people in charge of organizing said education are rich bastards getting richer, and don’t you forget it. But I don’t think it’s all doom and gloom – you can find education practically anywhere, often for free, and often from dedicated, knowledgable and all-round awesome people who really do still believe it’s all about the knowledge.

A fabulously theatrical goth wedding

Lady Clankington’s Cabinet of Carnal Curiosities – if you think that sounds like a steampunk sex-shop, that’s because it is.

I love this: Falco Ossifractus: Edith Miniter’s 1921 HP Lovecraft Parody.

Michelle from Wicked Whimsy is explaining various different Pagan Paths, which has been very interesting reading since I didn’t know a lot about the differences. Last week, she wrote about Asatru which mosst of us metalheads will probably be at least somewhat familiar with though our favorite Scandinavian bands.
