A few links today from me. I’ve got some reviews coming up this week, and maybe an article about horror films (if I can get it finished). Enjoy!
On Gothic Fashion, a series of black Victorian dresses on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Making your own Steampunk Heels, from Art of Darkness.
No Clean Singing has had lots of articles about metal lifestyle lately – it’s great to read about these things from other people’s perspectives. I’ve been enjoying David Mollica’s fantastic series on Metal Culture (see also parts 2, 3, 4, 5), and Andy Synn has done a great article called Five of My Favorite … Bits of Metal Uniform.
This is the craziest thing: Trap Streets and Rooms: Cartographic Errors Catch Copycats.
Awesome blog – The Homicidal Homemaker – where Home Economics Meets Horror.
C. Haze at Sixnoises reviews the new Shadow Grave release. Another New Zealand act you should get into.
I have not had time to review the new album from Ptahil, The Almighty Propagator of Doom and Despair. But, as usual, Islander says it better than I could have anyway. Go read and listen.
Paul Koudounaris has pretty much the coolest job in the world. He studies ossuries – bone crypts. He goes around the world photographing them and writing books. This interview with Koudounaris talks about some of his most interesting, and creepy experiences, including stories about sex ghosts, and is really, really fascinating. Our picture today is from Koudounaris’ book, and is a masturbating ghost.
Invisible clothing made of light. Awesome, but not exactly practical.
What does it feel like to be a hot girl who get’s old? I wouldn’t know, but these girls will tell you. I found this interesting, but weirdly sad.
So that’s a few links from me. What are you reading or listening to this week?
